The sands of Whitehaven Beach are pure white and very fine, while the water is clear and blue. The water is gentle making it a friendly beach for families with children. Don't forget the sunblock, sunglasses, and wide brimmed hats! The beach is never crowded and stretches out for several kilometers, so even if there are several tour boats on a particular day, there won't be a crowd.
There are no facilities on Whitehaven Beach. It is wise to bring fresh water for drinking. For those who sail on their own, Hamilton Island is fairly near, and is a good place to go for needed supplies. |
